Live Group Coaching

The monthly group coaching sessions are designed to help and support you throughout the various stages of the programme. We may work through case studies, practice coaching models or refresh modules. They are designed to bring the collective together and to build a supportive network during the first 12 months of your MTFK experience. They are an opportunity to work through wobbles, share ideas and reflect on challenges. There is a monthly day time and evening option available.

Here is a deeper dive into each module and the learning outcomes.

Module 1:  Sensory Awareness & Rapport

Sensory Awareness & Rapport will show you how to go way beyond words and really understand the sensory depth of the human experience. It will also give you an introduction into coaching. This module will teach you how the brain filters through the senses and give you the skills to tune into others.

This module will help you see the world around you with a fresh and enhanced perspective. It will give you the skills to quickly build rapport in a powerful and natural way that removes barriers and strengthens connection.

Module 2:  Representational Systems & Submodalities

The Representational Systems & Submodalities module will expand your knowledge on communication styles and how we experience the world around us through each of our senses. It will help you notice the subtle sensory clues within words, actions and behaviour. It will help you tailor your approach and make you super aware of how you are also ‘doing’ behaviour.

You will also learn about the tiny building blocks that make up our sensory experience. This will help you understand how people have their own unique experience of things like anxiety and lift the lid on exactly how they are processing it. This will give you the skills to help them change the way they are experiencing both resourceful and unhelpful feelings and reactions.

Module 3:  Anchoring & Modelling

The Anchoring & Modelling module will cement your knowledge and piece it all together so you can deliver powerful techniques like anchoring. This will give you the skills to help children access powerful resourceful states of behaviour in situations where they would have otherwise been stuck and struggled.

This module will teach you how to coach children by modelling useful behaviours and qualities in others. You will feel confident and equipped to help people try on new ways of showing up and what to identify when they are feeling stuck in a limiting behavioural pattern.

Module 4: Brain Science

This module will introduce you to the MTFK model of brain development and psychoeducation. The evidence based approach will help you and the children you work with to understand how emotions are experienced as bodily sensations, feelings and in the thinking mind.

This module is pivotal and will form the basis of your coaching foundation. It will help you to understand how we experience stress responses and the impact on our brain and nervous system. This will help you identify what to focus on when supporting children.

Module 5:  Language & Metaphor

The Language & Metaphor module will teach you about the power of language patterns and mental imagery. You will explore the impact of words and how you can use gentle questioning techniques to uncover what someone is really experiencing inside.

It will help you unlock a deeper level of connection and understanding. This module will give you the confidence and knowledge to guide a coaching conversation to uncover what is really going on beneath the surface.

Module 6:  Beliefs & Values

The Beliefs & Values module will help you to understand how core beliefs and values are formed and explore the impact that these have on how we show up in life. You will learn simple ways to uncover them and help children change their limiting beliefs and explore their values.

You will learn how to use coaching techniques to help challenge unhelpful beliefs and build positive new ones. You will explore the relationship between values and life choices to help children make decisions that align with their core values.

Module 7:  Relaxation & Mindfulness

In the Relaxation & Mindfulness module you will learn about how the nervous system functions in states of regulation and dysregulation. You will discover ways to reset the nervous system and explore how to teach children ways to do this.

This module will help you develop your own approach to teaching regulation and how to go there first. You will practice techniques and create your own mindful resources to combine relaxation with metaphor.

Module 8:  Social Connection & Relationships

In the Social Connection & Relationships module we explore the concept of emotional intelligence and how it develops in children. You will consider how to develop emotional awareness so that children can form social connection.

This module will look at the practical elements of relating to others from facial expression, body language and managing emotional responses. It will also teach you some techniques and strategies to help children build friendships and identify what they look for in a friend.

Module 9:  Growth Mindset & Resilience

In the Growth Mindset & Resilience module you will learn the fundamental differences between a growth and fixed mindset. You will get clear on the impact of a fixed mindset and rigid thinking around talent. It will offer ideas and strategies on how to help children set goals that inspire effort and commitment.

This module will teach you thinking strategies to help children build their resilience and critical thinking. It will also show you how to use visualisation to make goals appealing and achievable.

Module 10: Session Planning

In the Session Planning module you will learn how to structure and map out coaching sessions. You will get clear on how to work through a presenting issue, moving it from problem state to desired outcome. The MTFK approach will help you measure progress and give you the confidence to be agile and present when coaching.

Module 11: Resource Library Week

In the Resource Library module you will practice a variety of strategies and approaches for your coaching toolkit. You will develop your skills and confidence while working through exercises and activities.

In this module you will familiarise yourself with additional session worksheets and resources that will give you lots of options within your coaching. You will also learn how to make positive change stick by including the child’s family and wider support network.

Module 12: Case Study Preparation

In the Case Study module you will start planning your first coaching sessions.  You will learn about reflective process and how to plan, improve and maintain flexibility. This module needs to be completed and case studies submitted in order to receive your certificate and CPD credit. You can complete these within the 12 months of starting the course.
